MEET THE TEAM
Michael Meth – Concept, Book and Lyrics
Mike’s first musicals were produced when he was in his twenties and include the cult hit, “Metro – the Disaster Musical” at the New Playwrights Theatre in Washington DC. While a top Creative Director, writer and producer in the Experiential marketing business, his work took him to New Orleans where it was love at first sight (and taste). It was obvious to Mike that a stage story simply “set” in New Orleans couldn’t adequately capture the unique feeling of the culture. Instead, he created a participatory “experience” of New Orleans as the immersive musical, Last Night at the Rue Bayou.
Martee LeBow – Composer
Martee was a singer and pianist at age 3, a songwriter at ten and a major-label recording artist at 19. Her debut album, produced by the legendary Charlie Calello, featured a Who’s Who of New York session royalty.
As an Atlantic recording artist, she released two more acclaimed albums, “Love’s a Liar” and “Crimes of the Heart.” As a songwriter signed to multiple publishing companies, her writing talent was recognized by many recording artists, among them Dusty Springfield, who recorded Martee’s co-write with Will Jennings, “Roll Away.” Throughout her career, her music has reflected a powerful connection to the music of New Orleans. (she is convinced she lived a past life on the bayou!) Her deep feeling for and knowledge of the rhythms of New Orleans are the heartbeat of Last Night of the Rue Bayou.
